Hanging out at the in laws' today. I was too busy doing chores to post yesterday. Didn't even game all day, it's practically a miracle.
We watched Gerald's Game after Erica went to bed, though. It was truly excellent, but I definitely would not have been able to watch it if I hadn't already read the book years ago. Too many themes of abuse.
Anyways. Kurt's mother is in town visiting from Florida even though she's over 80 and fractured her femur five weeks ago. Woman is feisty. I hope I have that kinda oomph when I'm her age. I feel bad for her, though. Kurt holds her hand, but that's all, and I know it's hurting her. She went through the same stuff with her husband within the last five years before he passed. Such suffering. I can't imagine. I don't wanna.
That being said, she's a tough old lady. She's enjoying Erica and said Kurt is actually doing better than she feared, so she's been brighter than I expected. It's a relief. Jane also seems to be holding up okay, considering. We're all doing our best.
Ken is leaving for treatment tomorrow, so we'll be staying here for a few days. This is the first time we'll all stay here while he's gone, and I'm hoping it makes things easier for everyone. We'll bring Lily and will have someone check on the cats. I set up Erica's crib today, so that's covered.
So far the day is going as expected and I'm feeling much better than I was last week. It was a really difficult week mental health wise, but we're on the upswing and getting a lot of good stuff done, including some writing for my book. I'm toying with switching my mc narrative from first to third person. We'll do it for a couple chapters and see how I feel.
